How Tele Launched uses AI in the newsroom

A staff note on launch transparency: where AI may assist drafting, where humans stay accountable, and what we will not publish.

Tele Launched is a new industry news site. Readers who cover regulated healthcare deserve a plain account of how we use artificial intelligence. This staff note accompanies our AI policy. It is process journalism about our own desk, not a product pitch.

Why we are saying this at launch

Our beat includes FDA statements, compounding rules, telehealth operations, and peptide clinic marketing. Those topics attract both careful operators and noisy marketing copy. If we get a date, a docket number, or a paraphrase of agency language wrong, someone may make a business decision on bad information. Tools that speed drafting also speed the production of confident-sounding errors. So we are documenting constraints before we scale output.

What AI may assist with

Editors and reporters may use AI tools to:

  • Organize notes and timelines pulled from public documents we have already opened
  • Propose outlines or first-pass draft language that a human then rewrites
  • Flag unclear sentences during copy edit

Those uses are optional. Some pieces will be drafted entirely by a human. When AI assists, it does not earn a byline. The byline names the person accountable for the published text.

What we will not do

Link to section: What we will not do

We will not publish fabricated sources, invented warning letters, fake court outcomes, or made-up quotes. We will not invent patient outcomes or turn an explainer into a treatment protocol. We will not paste confidential tip material that contains sensitive personal data into consumer AI tools when that would be inappropriate. Tipsters should not send protected health information about identifiable patients to tips@telelaunched.com.

If a model suggests a citation, a human must open the primary document before the citation ships. Prefer FDA pages, state board FAQs, court dockets, and company filings over secondary blogs.

Editing and corrections

Every article and standards page goes through human edit before publication. Errors introduced with AI help are corrected like any other error under our Corrections policy. We will not blame "the model" in a correction note; we will say what was wrong and what we changed.

Relationship to ownership

Tele Launched is published by Tele Launched Media LLC. Editorial independence and commercial disclosure are covered in Ownership & funding. AI policy does not change that split: commercial relationships of the publisher do not assign news story angles.

What readers can expect next

Link to section: What readers can expect next

At launch we are publishing a tight set of source-backed explainers and this staff note. As we add reporting, we will keep linking primary URLs in the body when we claim what an agency or court document says. If our AI workflow changes in a material way, we will update the AI policy page and, when warranted, publish another staff note.
